2. The plane carrying the vice president went missing

The plane carrying the vice president of Malawi, Saulos Chilima, and nine other people on board has disappeared, the BBC reported, citing a statement from the president's office

According to the BBC, a Malawi Defense Force plane disappeared from radar after leaving the capital Lilongwe on Monday morning. The country's president, Lazarus Chakwera, ordered a search and rescue operation when airport employees failed to contact the plane's crew.
