National Independence Day celebrations will take place across the country today. The leaders of the Civic Coalition, Third Way and New Left signed a coalition agreement. 1. We celebrate Independence Day

National Independence Day celebrations will take place across the country today. In the morning, the President, Prime Minister, Speaker of the Sejm, Speaker of the Senate and Senior Marshal Marek Sawicki will lay wreaths in front of the monuments of the Fathers of Independence: Wincenty Witos, Ignacy Jan Paderewski, Ignacy Daszyński, Roman Dmowski, Wojciech Korfanty and Józef Piłsudski. At noon, central celebrations with the participation of representatives of the Polish authorities, including: president Andrzej Dudapremiere Mateusz MorawieckiDeputy Prime Minister, Head of the Ministry of National Defense Mariusz BłaszczakMarshal of the Sejm Elżbieta Witek and the Speaker of the Senate, Tomasz Grodzki, will take place at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in Warsaw.

2. The leaders signed a coalition agreement

Donald Tusk, Władysław Kosiniak-KamyszSzymon Hołownia, Włodzimierz Czarzasty and Robert Biedroń signed a coalition agreement after 12 o’clock, which contains 24 assumptions.

The coalition agreement signed by the leaders of the Civic Coalition, Third Way and New Left presents candidates for prime minister and deputy prime ministers, and also details the details of rotation in the positions of speakers of the Sejm and Senate.

3. Kaczyński talks about the plan to “annihilate the Polish state”

On the eve of the National Independence Day and on the next month of the Smolensk disaster, a March of Remembrance took place through the streets of the capital. Its participants left the Warsaw Archcathedral, passing through Krakowskie Przedmieście to Piłsudskiego Square. There, PiS president Jarosław Kaczyński delivered a speech.

– A specific plan has already been prepared, the implementation of which by the European Union would lead not only to depriving us of independence, not only to depriving us of sovereignty, but even to the annihilation of the Polish state – said PiS president Jarosław Kaczyński. He stated that this was “essentially a German plan.” – We do not want to be subject to Germany – he added.

4. Investigation into the disclosure of photos of Grzegorz Borys’ body

The Gdańsk prosecutor’s office announced the initiation of an investigation into the disclosure of photos of Grzegorz Borys’ body on the Internet. The man had been wanted by the services since October 20, when the body of his 6-year-old son was found in his apartment.

Photos of the face and body of 44-year-old Grzegorz Borys were published on Monday on the X platform and on a local news portal. The penalty for disclosing the photos is up to three years in prison.

5. The head of PFR announced his resignation

The president of the Polish Development Fund, Paweł Borys, announced on social media that at the end of 2023 resigns from managing the Fund. He also announced his resignation as the head of the Supervisory Board of Bank Gospodarstwa Krajowego (BGK).

Borys wrote on the X platform (formerly Twitter) that at the end of the term of office of the PFR management board he is leaving for the private sector, and he will announce his new role in January 2024.
