The House of Representatives on Saturday passed bills to aid Ukraine, Israel and Taiwan for a total amount of $95 billion. The vote clears a months-long impasse and paves the way for resuming support for Ukraine next week.

All projects passed with an overwhelming majority of votes. The Ukraine support package worth $60.8 billion received the most votes against. All Democratic congressmen present (210) voted for it, but less than half of Republicans (101 of 213).

4. President Andrzej Duda's visit to Canada

President Andrzej Duda continues his visit to North America and is currently in Canada. On Saturday, he met with the country's Prime Minister Justin Trudeau. The main topics of the talks were international security and the upcoming NATO summit in Washington.

5. Armand Duplantis' new world record in pole vaulting

Swede Armand Duplantis on Saturday improved his own world record in pole vault with a result of 6.24 m in the first Diamond League meeting this year in Xiamen.

The previous record in the pole vault was 6.23 m. Duplantis achieved this result on September 17, 2023 in the final Diamond League competition in Eugene.
