3. The mysterious disappearance of the head of Chinese diplomacy

Chinese Foreign Minister Qin Gang was not seen in public for three weeks. His absence, and above all the silence of the authorities about her, has given rise to numerous speculations in China – a country where the political reality is shrouded in mystery – writes CNN.

After Sino-American relations fell into a deep crisis following the downing of a Chinese spy balloon over US territory, Qin played a key role in efforts to stabilize shaky bilateral relations and restore communications between Washington and Beijing. In mid-June, he met with US Secretary of State Antony Blinken, who had come to visit the Chinese capital.

4. Russia withdraws from the grain initiative

Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Dmytro Kuleba Ukraine is conducting urgent consultations at the UN headquarters on Russia’s withdrawal from the grain agreement, Ukraine’s foreign ministry said in a statement on Monday. The President of Ukraine spoke by phone with the UN Secretary General on the restoration of food security and the export of Ukrainian food through the Black Sea Volodymyr Zelensky.

“Ukrainians, we and others will be looking to see if there are any other options, but the challenge is this: if Russia ends this initiative and sends a signal that grain and other food products cannot leave Ukraine, then even if there are other options, it will trigger it’s a deep chilling effect,” said the chief of American diplomacy Anthony Blinken at a press briefing in Washington.
