1. Historical success of volleyball players

The Polish volleyball team won United States in Sunday’s final of the League of Nations 3:1 (25:23, 24:26, 25:18, 25:18) and for the first time in history she reached the gold medal of this prestigious competition. 2. Firefighters completed firefighting operations in Przylepa

On Sunday after 8 p.m., firefighters completed firefighting operations in Przylepa in Zielona Góra, where a hall where chemical substances were stored was on fire, Arkadiusz Kaniak, spokesman for the Lubuskie State Fire Service, informed.

He added that about 200 firefighters were involved in putting out the fire. – During the peak, it was nearly 80 hosts – said senior captain Kaniak. On average, about 60 hosts participated in extinguishing the fire due to the need for rotational activities.

On Sunday in Spain elections to the Parliament of the Cortes Generales took place. After counting all the votes cast, the People’s Party (PP) won. Right behind her, according to data from the state electoral commission, are the ruling socialists (PSOE) of Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez.

None of the parties achieved a single majority. Neither the PP nor the PSOE will be satisfied with the support of the parties indicated as their potential coalition partners – Vox and Sumar, respectively. The Spanish media agree: the country is facing a period of great uncertainty.

4. Fires on other Greek islands

Residents of some towns on the Greek islands of Euboea and Corfu were ordered to evacuate on Sunday due to forest fires, local media reported.

The evacuation order on Euboea, the second largest Greek island, concerns a village on the southern tip of the island. Their inhabitants are to move to the city of Karystos in the western part of Euboea. The Ekhatimerini portal quoted Giorgos Kelaiditis, the vice-governor Greece Central (administrative region), which stated that the situation was difficult.

On Sunday afternoon, fire also broke out in the north of the island of Corfu. The fire appeared near the village of Peritia. Forests and grasslands were burning in the evening, firefighting operations were underway, the Athens-Macedonian Press Agency (ANA-MPA) reported.

Fires are currently raging on the very popular tourist island of Rhodes. More than 30,000 people have been forced to evacuate since Friday. It was – according to the Greek authorities – the largest evacuation in the country’s history. Some travel agencies and airlines canceled Sunday flights to Rhodes.

5. Santos delivered the message

The president of PZPN, Cezary Kulesza, denied that Fernando Santos was to leave the position of coach of the Polish national football team. “The media reports that he intends to resign from leading our team are not true,” the head of the federation wrote on Twitter on Sunday evening.

“I have a short message from coach Santos for all fans of the Polish national team: I have a valid contract with the national team and nothing has changed in this matter. I count on your support in the fight for the European Championships!” Kulesza added.

Earlier, some Saudi media reported that the 68-year-old coach has a lucrative offer from the local top league club – Al-Shabab, and only details are missing to finalize the deal. For many hours on Sunday, representatives of the PZPN tried to contact Santos, who was on vacation, but to no avail.
