Mr. Dariusz was supposed to fly from Sharm Al Sheikh to Rzeszów on Thursday evening by SkyUp. However, his flight was canceled, as was the next one. Airlines apologize to passengers.
The tourist contacted the editorial office Contact24 on Friday evening. As he said, his flight was scheduled to depart on Thursday at 5:45 p.m., but was postponed due to technical reasons. A similar fate befell the replacement flight a day later.
– They took us to the hotel around midnight, and today (Friday – ed.) there was to be another flight around 5 p.m. Now we have been sitting at the airport for six hours and there is no information. The employees don't know anything, no time is given, and apparently there is no plane. The resident allegedly assured us that they would transport us to the hotel again if we did not fly out today, Mr. Dariusz reported on Friday.
The airline apologizes
We have contacted the carrier regarding the canceled flight. SkyUp Airlines has confirmed the cancellation of flight number U5 7552 from Sharm El Sheikh to Rzeszów on January 2 “due to technical reasons”.
“To minimize disruptions, passengers were redirected to other flights,” we read in the statement sent to us on Saturday. The company also announced that some of the passengers have already returned to Poland, while the rest are scheduled to fly on January 4.
“During the changes, we kept passengers informed and provided them with full support, including meals and amenities to ensure their comfort,” SkyUp said. The airline apologizes for the inconvenience and announces that “compensation for passengers will be granted in accordance with European Union law.”
