There were flash floods in Lombardy in northern Italy. Some rivers flooded. On Thursday evening, the search for a 66-year-old man continued in the town of Cantù, and two bridges collapsed in Cambiago, local media reported.

Intense rainfall does not give peace to the inhabitants of Lombardy. After Wednesday's downpours, which caused flooding and local flooding, heavy rainfall hit this Italian region again on Thursday. The levels of the Seveso and Lambro rivers rose rapidly and overflowed their banks.

A 66-year-old man went missing on Thursday evening in the town of Cantù in the province of Como. This happened after the bridge railing he was leaning on collapsed. The man fell into the water. The search is ongoing, the fire brigade said.

In the commune of Cambiago in the province of Milan, two bridges collapsed on the Trebbia River. There is no information about any injuries resulting from this incident.

The day before, the fire brigade carried out over 500 interventions throughout Lombardy due to flooding, flooding and local floods, including over 300 in Milan. There was a traffic paralysis in the capital of the region. Schools in some towns in the region remained closed on Thursday.
