We need to help all the people who have moved with their hearts to help. That is why our task is to support coordination – said Prime Minister Donald Tusk at a joint conference with the head of WOŚP Jerzy Owsiak. Owsiak said that WOŚP has already allocated 40 million zlotys to help flood victims and opened a collection account, where over 4.5 million zlotys have already been collected.

– I am here first and foremost to thank everyone, without exception, who got involved from the very first hours, all over Poland. From you Jerzy Owsiak I heard the words that it was a “flood of aid”. This is something that really arouses our great positive emotions – said the Prime Minister.

– This is already a massive help, but nothing can replace this great effort. We just need to help all the people who immediately started helping with their hearts, so that it is well coordinated. That is why we are in this group – explained Tusk.

Owsiak: We have opened a collection account. There is already over 4.5 million zlotys

Owsiak said that the system is still working in place, but the support of citizens is also needed. – And it is there all the time – he said.

– The Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity announced yesterday that it is making 40 million zlotys available for purchases that are most needed, for such resources that can be purchased immediately and distributed to all those places that need them. From this 40 million zlotys we will buy what is on the lists published by local government officials – explained Owsiak.

As he said, “the first transport is leaving Warsaw in a moment”. – We are establishing with the Prime Minister, the Voivode, and the Minister how the transports will arrive – he said.

– Yesterday we also created an account, MBank opened a collection account. This collection will also be used for all the very necessary purchases. If the 40 million zloty runs out, we will use this collection – said the head of WOŚP.

He explained that the funds from the collection are to be used primarily to purchase medical supplies and equipment for facilities that were destroyed by the flood. – Our account already has over 4.5 million złoty – he said.

Details of the collection and the account number for payments can be found on the website wosp.org.pl.
