Senior Brigadier Michał Kamieniecki, who took over crisis management in Lądek-Zdrój and Stronie Śląskie on Wednesday, spoke on “Fakty po Faktach” on TVN24 about what his actions are currently focused on. – I coordinated the work of the staff, created command structures at individual levels so that this work would proceed efficiently – he said. He also pointed out what is currently a “huge problem”.
Senior Brigadier Michał Kamieniecki is the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship Commander of the State Fire Service, who since Wednesday, based on the decisions of the government, has been managing the work of the crisis management teams in Lądek-Zdrój and Stronie Śląskie.

Senior Brigadier Kamieniecki: my role is to support the residents
The firefighter was a guest on “Fakty po Faktach”. He said that Lądek-Zdrój, where he is currently staying, looks much worse than the images of this place that can be seen on television.
He also spoke about his new role in crisis management in Lądek-Zdrój and Stronie Śląskie. – Together with my officers, we carried out tasks in the Opole province. An order came in the area of crisis management in two communes. Hence my presence, together with experienced firefighters, who also carried out tasks in foreign missions, were trained within the framework of the European Union's aid mechanisms – he continued.
He explained that his role is to coordinate the work of firefighters with the actions of the army, police, and the Polish Red Cross, which supports the services in providing assistance to residents.
– All the employees of the commune have been working here for many days, they too were tired of this situation. We must remember that they, in addition to their tasks in providing help to residents, are also mostly affected residents of these communes. I really have great respect for their work, for their dedication – he emphasized.
– My role, along with my team, was to support these residents. I coordinated the work of the staff, created command structures at individual levels so that this work would go smoothly, so that it would simply be coordinated – he continued.
Kamieniecki said that currently in the areas where he is managing the work of crisis management teams, most facilities already have access to water. He added that electricity also already reaches about 70 percent of facilities. He reported that according to the information he received from the operator, the reconstruction of the energy infrastructure should take up to two more weeks.
He added that what is now a “huge problem” is the sewage system, including the fact that the collectors are clogged.
What is most needed?
Kamieniecki listed that what is needed most now are power generators, equipment for drying rooms, rubber boots, shovels, gloves and wheelbarrows. – However, I would also like to emphasize here right away: this equipment is being systematically delivered. Today I received information about over 200 generators waiting for our collection in the so-called hubs, where this humanitarian aid is delivered. Here, both in one and the other commune, where we have aid points, collection points for all these donations, we have them practically full – he said.
