President Andrzej Duda visited the flood areas on Friday. In Lądek-Zdrój, he spoke with local authorities and representatives of the services that are working on the site.
The president arrived in Lower Silesia on Friday morning, the first stop on the visit was Lądek-Zdrój. Duda viewed the flood damage and talked to representatives of local authorities, the army and services. The president was accompanied by, among others, the head of the National Security Bureau, Jacek Siewiera and new presidential advisor Beata Kempa.
The president received a report on the status of the work from one of the military. Duda asked, among other things, about the participation of volunteers in the clean-up work after the flood. – Simple, ordinary work must be done, and anyone can do it. But it must be done in an organized way, because it is even difficult to get here. That is why I am asking about volunteers, to organize it somehow, so that they can be delivered here – said the president.
He emphasized that “the biggest concern is that these are foothill towns, and winter will soon come, with night frosts and negative temperatures.” – It's already cold at night. Wet buildings, this sludge must be cleaned up as soon as possible – he pointed out.
In the afternoon, at 1:15 p.m., the president is scheduled to speak in Głuchołazy.
