The peak wave on the Odra reached Wrocław. In turn, the peak wave on the Bóbr is passing through Nowogród Bobrzański (Lubuskie Voivodeship). Firefighters and soldiers of the Territorial Defense Forces worked at night in several places in Wrocław – including on the embankments in the west of the city – at the mouth of the Bystrzyca River into the Odra River on Janówek and Marszowice (estate in the north-western part of Wrocław), where seepage occurred in the embankments.

Both leaks have been patched up. – I spoke with the commander of this operation on the side of the State Fire Service. He says that they have the situation under control – said the mayor of Wrocław, Jacek Sutryk, at around 2 a.m. from Wednesday to Thursday.

Down Wroclaw the peak wave on the Odra has reached. According to the report of Tomasz Sikora from the Wrocław city office, the water on the Bystrzyca is already slowly falling. In Trestno, the level of the Odra was 630 centimetres before 6 a.m. on Thursday. As Sikora said, the worst-case scenario assumed 7.5 metres.

As the officer on duty at the command post of the provincial commander of the State Fire Service in Wrocław said, the embankments are being sealed all the time. – We are sealing them all the time, but they are not leaking. We are keeping an eye on it – said the officer on duty of the fire department before 2 a.m. on Wednesday to Thursday.

Polish Waters – Regional Water Management Board in Wrocław announced the launch of two more flood polders near Wrocław on the left bank of the Oder. It was indicated that these are polders Blizanowice-Trestno and Olawka. The polders can collectively store 3.8 and 12 million cubic metres of water, respectively.

“IN Nowogród Bobrzański (Zielonogórski district) on the Bóbr the water level is slowly stabilising and should gradually drop in the coming hours” – informed IMWM-PIB.

As reported on Wednesday evening by Junior Brig. Arkadiusz Kaniak, spokesman for the Lubuskie fire department, the situation on the Bóbr in Nowogród Bobrzański is under control and will not deteriorate any further. According to him, the flood wave on the Bóbr River will reach the Odra on Thursday around 11 a.m.

– A dam built on the road from Nowogród Bobrzański to the western part of the city, Krzystkowice, passed the test – said the spokesman of the Lubuskie firefighters. The services only note local water seepage. The situation has also improved on the Odra in Cigacice near Zielona Góra. – At the moment there is no threat from the Odra River – the firefighter assessed.

The Odra River level is high there and in some places it has approached the top of the embankments. – The river does not pose a threat to the towns located along it, but the situation is still dynamic – emphasized Junior Brig. Kaniak.
