“Night and lack of electricity are not your allies and will not give you any advantage. We see everything!” – the General Staff of the Polish Army warned looters, informing on the night from Tuesday to Wednesday about the intensive activities of patrols equipped with night vision and thermal imaging in the areas affected by the flood.
“Attention looters! The Military Police, together with the police and soldiers of the operational forces, are conducting intensive preventive actions in flood areas. Joint patrols equipped with night vision and thermal imaging will ensure that your every move will be immediately detected, and the consequences will be inevitable. Night and lack of electricity are not your allies and will not give you any advantage. We see everything!” – the General Staff reported on the X platform.

Increased operational activities
On Tuesday, the Deputy Prime Minister Wladyslaw Kosiniak-Kamysz announced increased operational activities in the areas affected by the flood and joint patrols aimed at protecting the property of evacuees. – Protection of these places is a priority for us. We are sending additional forces and resources – from the Military Police, it will be 500 gendarmes, who will already today conduct preventive and operational activities in the Lower Silesian and Opole provinces, in cooperation with the police – said the head of the Ministry of National Defense. He added that this includes night patrols using night vision devices.
The deputy prime minister said that the exploitation of human tragedy by looters is disgusting. “We will catch and severely punish all those who dare to do such an act,” he announced.
First cases of looting
The Chief Commander of Police, Inspector Marek BoroÅ„, informed on Tuesday about first cases of looting. – It was an Orlen station, KÅ‚odzko district, two people arrested for attempted theft. The second case was a car repair shop, Lewin Brzeski, a stolen car, also two people arrested – he said. On Tuesday, police officers from Lewin Brzeski arrested two men who were interested in one of the flooded properties in the flood-affected areas. In their car, police officers found objects that could be used for burglary.
The police assure that they are constantly monitoring the situation in flood regions. Officers of the criminal division are patrolling areas where the water has already subsided, checking the security of property left during the evacuation. The police appeal to inform the nearest police unit, services cooperating with them, or by calling the emergency number 112 about any suspicious behavior.
