– The towns outside the city suffered the most. The industrial zone is completely destroyed – described in an interview with Kontakt24 editorial team Mr. Wojciech, who is staying in Valencia, Spain, which was hit by a catastrophic and tragic flood. As Mrs. Justyna reported, grocery stores lack basic products and public transport is paralyzed.

The Valencia region is one of those hardest hit by Tuesday's floods in Spain. Authorities announced the death of several dozen people on Wednesday. The water took away everything in its path. Many roads and buildings were flooded, cars and apartments were destroyed.

“The towns outside the city suffered the most”

We were contacted by a Pole who has been living in Valencia, the capital of the province, for half a year. – I drive a truck that is a mobile workshop. On Tuesday I was leaving for Malaga, but on the way I was caught by bad weather. It was after 8 p.m., it was very windy – said Mr. Wojciech.

As he said, he returned to Valencia on Wednesday morning. – Since 6 o'clock I've been trying to get home and to the workshop I run. I'm afraid there may be nothing left of him – he said in the early afternoon in a conversation with the editorial office of Kontakt24. – The center itself did not suffer much damage, but the surrounding areas, for example the industrial zone, are completely destroyed – he noted.

– The towns outside the city suffered the most. I saw the effects of the flood from the car window. Rescue helicopters that hovered over destroyed houses. A tragedy – described Mr. Wojciech.

“We drove two kilometers and the taxi got stuck”

We were also contacted by Mr. Adam, who was supposed to return to Poland on Tuesday evening, but was stuck in Valencia.

– We had a flight to GdaÅ„sk at 10.30 p.m., but it was canceled. At 4 a.m. we wanted to go back to our apartment. We drove two kilometers and the taxi got stuck due to the flooded road. We had to cross the bridge on foot. We have a small child with us, he said. – Flights resumed on Wednesday, but it is difficult to get to the airport. We managed to book a flight from Alicante for Friday. We don't know yet if we'll be able to get back because the roads are blocked. The services suggest not to move between cities, said Mr. Adam.

He added that stores were running out of products. “People are starting to buy up everything,” he said.
