– The most difficult situation at the moment is in the Lower Silesian and Opole provinces. The Kłodzko Valley, Stronie Śląskie are places that require the greatest support. All forces and resources are being deployed, both the fire department, the police and the army. Helicopters are being deployed to evacuate people from the Kłodzko Valley, Stronie Śląskie. Another method of evacuation is currently impossible. Bridges have been torn off, and there are difficult moments in protecting the dam or embankments – said Kosiniak-Kamysz during a briefing in Katowice. As he pointed out, it is not always possible to use floating self-propelled transporters, because the water current does not allow it. – So, air assets – both military and police, TOPR are being directed today to evacuate people – he added. As the Minister of Defence reported, more military units are heading to the area affected by the flood. – Wherever the voivodes expressed a need for additional units, such as the Opole voivode, the soldiers will be available – he assured.
