A state of natural disaster has affected 749 localities, 2 million 390 thousand inhabitants – Jan Grabiec, head of the Chancellery of the Prime Minister, informed on Saturday. He added that 57 thousand people are directly affected by the flood.
A meeting was held in Wrocław with the governors to gather preliminary estimates of the losses and costs that will have to be incurred in connection with the reconstruction of places destroyed by the flood. The head of the Prime Minister's office Jan Grabiec provided aggregate data.
– The state of natural disaster covers 749 localities, of course these are mainly villages, but this number also includes cities. When it comes to the number of residents of the localities covered by the state of natural disaster, there are 2 million 390 thousand, of which 57 thousand people were affected by the flood, who actually experienced the flood despite rescue and protection measures. The number of evacuees is 6,544 – Grabiec listed. As he added, 11,502 residential buildings, both single-family and multi-family, were reported as damaged.
– The number of farm buildings affected by the flood is 6,033, and the number of public utility buildings (including schools, kindergartens, sports facilities, administration buildings, as well as bridges and roads) flooded or damaged by the flood is 724

The great lord of flood reconstruction
– The fight against the flood is not over – the Prime Minister stated. – We will be in Głogów today, where the situation is still far from calm, we have to prepare this great reconstruction plan, which is our commitment and national ambition. To really know exactly what has been destroyed, so that the first aid reaches those who really need it, and then to set off on a grand scale, to this reconstruction plus – the Prime Minister said during Saturday's meeting Donald Tusk.
He added that he wants the situation to “also be better than before the flood” after billions of zlotys and euros have been released.
– We are talking here not only about flood protection, but also about the infrastructure that was destroyed. In order to responsibly plan this reconstruction plus, i.e. with this additional state contribution, we need to know what requires reconstruction, reconstruction or renovation in the first place – added the Prime Minister.
