I estimated that this amount could be considered. I think it will be sufficient – said the Minister of Infrastructure Dariusz Klimczak in “Kropka nad i”. He referred to the information that Poland is to receive half of the EU funds intended for countries affected by floods. Klimczak also said that the estimates of losses are still ongoing, but the damage to water reservoirs alone is already about a billion zlotys.
European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen announced on Thursday that aid for flood-affected countries will amount to EUR 10 billion. As reported by the head of the Chancellery of the Prime Minister Jan Grabiec, half of these funds are to go to Poland.
Minister of Infrastructure Darius Klimczak (PSLTrzecia Droga) said in “Kropka nad i” on TVN24 that if we receive this much, it means that “we get half of the entire pool”. – This is a lot – he assessed.
– I also estimated that this amount could generally be considered. I think it will be sufficient – he added.
He also noted that “we are at the beginning of estimating the damage”. – We have individual pieces of information regarding the losses we have suffered in all parts of the provinces that were affected by the flood disaster – he said.
– I doubt that our prime minister would negotiate any other amount than the one that is sufficient. Donald Tusk. He is perfectly oriented, we cooperate with each other from morning till night, and he also knows what kind of estimates we need to meet all the expectations of people, local governments, entrepreneurs or individuals who will also be beneficiaries of this aid – he explained.
What are the losses after the flood? Minister provides preliminary amounts
The Minister was also asked about the estimated amount of losses due to the flood. Klimaczak said that “estimates are still ongoing.”
– In many places, not only does the water have to recede, in other places we have to invite experts to properly estimate the losses – he explained.
– When it comes to water reservoirs, we can see that, according to the initial estimates provided to me by Wody Polskie, a great many embankments and reservoirs require repair, and the amounts range from PLN 120 million to even PLN 400 million – he said.
As he said, in Stronie Śląskie “the initial estimate for repairing the water reservoir is about 400 million zlotys”. – When I quickly summed up just these reservoirs, water facilities, it is about a billion zlotys. And these are really initial estimates – he emphasized.
