USA. Golf Cart Accidents

According to data from the American Academy of Pediatrics cited by ABC News, each year in USA over six and a half thousand children are hit by a golf cart. Studies have shown that boys fall victim to such accidents more often than girls. Usually, children who are hit suffer only superficial injuries, the second most common consequence of such events are fractures and sprains. Most injuries are to the neck and head.

CNN points out that the high number of accidents involving golf carts has prompted the Florida authorities to tighten the rules on their operation. As the portal explains, the law, which will come into force in October, does not specify the minimum age that must be reached in order to legally drive a golf cart. However, it specifies that the driver of such a vehicle must have a driving license or an appropriate permit.
