A tragic accident near Rawa Mazowiecka in the Łódź Province. As a result of the collision of the bus with the truck, three people were killed on the spot and two more were taken to the hospital. One of them died on Thursday. Thus, the balance of casualties increased to four.
The accident took place on Wednesday after 2 p.m. on the provincial road no. 707 near the town of Niemgłowy in the commune of Cielądz in the Rawa poviat, south-east of Rawa Mazowiecka. For undetermined reasons, a bus collided with a truck with a semi-trailer at the intersection with another local route. In the accident, three people died on the spot. Two more people, one of the passengers of the delivery truck and the truck driver, were injured.
The injured man died
– It was not possible to save the life of the fourth man who traveled on Wednesday by bus, who collided with a truck in the Rawa poviat (Łódź Voivodeship). A 37-year-old Ukrainian citizen died in the hospital, a spokesman for the District Prosecutor’s Office in Łódź, Krzysztof Kopania, reported on Thursday.
“The balance of the incident is tragic – 4 men aged 37 to 39 died, two of them Poles and two citizens of Ukraine. The 22-year-old man driving the truck is in hospital. At the time of the accident he was sober” – reported the spokesman.
Probably forced priority
The prosecutor has already provided preliminary findings regarding the tragedy in the Rawa poviat. “The probable cause of the accident could be the right of way being forced by the bus driver who was driving on a minor road” – he said. “It will be possible to draw clear conclusions in this regard after obtaining an expert opinion in the field of accident reconstruction, the preparation of which will be preceded by an assessment of the technical condition of the vehicles” – added Kopania. The investigation is being conducted by the prosecutor’s office in Rawa Mazowiecka.
