NATO has never sought provocation. His unit takes part in the Baltops naval exercises that take place in the Baltic States. 6,500 soldiers from several NATO countries, including Poland, take part in the exercises.

The maneuvers are watched by TVN24 reporter Artur Molęda, who spoke with Lieutenant Colonel Edmunds Svencs from the 4th Latvian National Guard Brigade. – We are on the north-eastern flank of NATO. My brigade is responsible for protecting this coastline and it is very important that we all train to defend it, he said.

He added that the soldiers were practicing “receiving and assisting Allied forces that are landing here.” – NATO by its definition has never sought provocation. We deter evildoers, but if necessary, we will protect every inch of our Alliance.

– About six thousand soldiers take part in the exercises, which is why they are exercises at the level of the Alliance – he stressed.

The Baltops exercises are the largest international maneuvers organized in the Baltic Sea. They have been organized since 1972.
