General Janusz Adamczak was elected the director of the NATO International Military Staff – President Andrzej Duda announced on Saturday. Minister of National Defense Mariusz Błaszczak assessed that it was “an important day for Poland, for the Polish Army and NATO”.
President Andrzej Duda wrote on Twitter: “Gen. Janusz Adamczak has been elected to one of the most important allied positions – director of the NATO International Military Staff. Great success of Poland and Mr. General! Congratulations!”.
Lieutenant General Janusz Adamczak is Poland’s representative in NATO and EU military committees.

Minister of National Defense Mariusz Błaszczak congratulated General Janusz Adamczak on social media for the election to the new position. “An important day for Poland, for the Polish Army and NATO. Lieutenant-General Janusz Adamczak has been elected Director General of the International Military Staff. This is one of the highest military positions in NATO. Congratulations, Mr. General!” – he wrote.
