The former head of CBA Ernest Bejda on Friday is to be questioned by the parliamentary investigation commission for Pegasus, where he had not previously appeared. A spokesman for the Minister of the Special Service Coordinator informed in the morning that the police detained the former head of the CBA and would lead him to the meeting.

The Friday meeting, during which the PEGASUSA Investigative Committee has the scheduled interrogation of Ernest Bejdy is to start at 10.30. On Thursday, the head of the commission Magdalena Sroka (PSL-TD) said that Bejda was to be brought to the meeting “in accordance with the court's decision”.
A spokesman for the minister coordinator of special services announced that the police detained the former boss CBA. “The man will be brought to the investigation commission at 10:30,” said Jacek Dobrzyński.
As Magdalena Sroka added, there were the Commission's applications to impose a fine on the former CBA head, while after his next failure to appear at the meeting, an application for bringing and on Friday “is to be implemented by the police.”
According to the deputy head of the Pegasus committee Tomasz Trela (left), “There are a lot of questions to Mr. Bejda in terms of both purchasing and functional, usable, the Pegasus system”. – We have a lot of evidence collected in a closed mode, which we cannot talk about – added the MP. The documents of the Ministry of Justice show that Ernest Bejda was behind the purchase of the Pegasus system.

CBA officers with allegations
On Wednesday, in the investigation regarding the use of Pegasus software, the allegations of exceeding the permissions were heard by the former director of the CBA delegation in Warsaw, Jarosław W. and former head of the department and operational and investigation of this delegation Katarzyna S. informed the spokesman of the national prosecutor's office Przemysław Nowak. Exceeding the rights was to carry out operational and reconnaissance activities towards the former president of Sopot Jacek Karnowski “despite the lack of factual and legal grounds”.
On Wednesday, in an interview with Rzeczpospolita, Bejda emphasized that the allegations made to officers “are strictly political.” – I am absolutely convinced of the honesty of detained officers. They are professional, they did difficult matters – said Ernest Bejda.
Four attempts to interrogate
Ernest Bejda was to testify before the PEGASUS inquiry commission on March 31, but he did not appear at the meeting. It was the fourth attempt to hear it. At the beginning of April Ministry of Justice published declassified documents regarding the purchase of the Pegasus system. They show that the agreement for the transfer to the Central Anti -Corruption Bureau PLN 25 million in 2017 was signed by the then Deputy Minister of Justice Michał Woś and the head of CBA Ernest Bejda.
The Commission is investigating whether the use of Pegasus surveillance software by the government, special services and the police at the time when it ruled PISwas lawful. The Commission is also to determine who was responsible for the purchase of Pegasus and similar tools for Polish authorities. According to those previously transferred, incl. by the Supreme Audit Office, the Pegasus system was purchased in autumn 2017 for the CBA from funds from the main part (PLN 25 million) from the Justice Fund (supervised by the Ministry of Justice).
