Former head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Grzegorz Schetyna about the conversation of Donald Trump with Vladimir Putin

US President Donald Trump announced on Wednesday that He talked to Putin, among others, about the war in Ukraine. According to his account, both leaders agreed that they wanted to stop the death of Russian and Ukrainian soldiers in the war in Ukraine. They also agreed to start peace negotiations immediately. Later, the US President talked with the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelnski.

– This is such a business approach to politics, i.e. very hard conditions at the beginning. (…) There will be new, very hard, basic positions that will be subject to political grinding during negotiations – said the former head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Schetyna also pointed out that NATO countries, especially the Baltic States, have to do everything so that “Russia never has the temptation to” attack. – All countries must know that we must pull out of our own pocket.
