What happened? The PZU Supervisory Board decided that Wojciech O. will no longer be a member of the management board. He was delegated to this position in August for three months, counted from September 2. According to media reports the former Minister of Agriculture was to be detained by the CBA in connection with the case granted by Alior Bank loans to indebted Henryk Kania Meat Plants. Wojciech O. was then the director of the agribusiness department bank.
PZU with a clear message: “PZU today received information – available in the public domain – regarding Wojciech's detention [O. – red.]a member of the supervisory board delegated to temporarily perform the duties of a member of the management board. From the knowledge we have, the detention has nothing to do with PZU's business activitiesand concerns Wojciech's professional activity [O. – red] from the period 2016-2019, several years before joining the supervisory board,” the company informed.
The prosecutor's office is working on Wojciech O.: The CBA announced that it had detained six people in Warsaw, Radom and Zgierz. Spokesman of the National Prosecutor's Office, Prosecutor Przemysław Nowak, said: “among the six detained people is former MP Wojciech O.” and that “the case concerns crimes of an economic nature”. Details will be provided only after the charges are presented.
PZU with a new member of the management board: On the same evening, Thursday (November 28), PZU announced the appointment of a new member of the management board. It will be Maciej Fedynafinancier, has been involved in insurance for 20 years. He will start working in this position on December 16, 2024.
