Former Sen. Barbara Boxer attacked, robbed in California

Former Sen. Barbara Boxer was attacked and robbed of her cellphone Monday whereas in Northern California, based on a Twitter publish from her account.

Boxer, a Democrat from California, was in Oakland’s Jack London Sq. neighborhood when somebody pushed her within the again and took her cellphone, based on the tweet.

“Earlier at this time former Senator Barbara Boxer was assaulted within the Jack London Sq. neighborhood of Oakland,” the social media publish reads. “The assailant pushed her within the again, stole her cellphone and jumped in a ready automobile. She is grateful that she was not severely injured.”

The assertion posted to Boxer’s Twitter account mentioned she is “grateful that she was not severely injured.”

Fox Information has reached out to a consultant of Boxer for extra info.

The Oakland Police Division mentioned the theft occurred at 1:15 p.m. within the 300 block of third Road. It declined to substantiate whether or not Boxer was the sufferer. 

“The suspect forcefully took loss from the sufferer, and fled in a close-by ready automobile,” the police mentioned in a press release.

The division’s theft part is investigating the incident. A $2,000 reward is being supplied for info resulting in an arrest. 

Boxer, 80, served within the U.S. Senate from 1993 to 2017. She was succeeded by then-California Lawyer Normal Kamala Harris after she selected to not search re-election.
