“Fortunately, we have a leader.” European populists praise Trump's decisions and speak with one voice

The extreme right, calling itself “patriots for Europe”, tries to build a parallel universe, in which the change in America's approach to helping Ukraine brings us closer to lasting peace, and the policy of Donald Trump Russia serves Europeans.

– Now, fortunately, we have a leader, I mean President Trump, who takes responsibility for starting peace negotiations. Let's support him. We need it – says Viktor Orban, the Prime Minister of Hungary.

“Patriots for Europe” is a political group in the European Parliament. The leaders of the parties who were creating it met in Brussels, parallel to the EU summit. On the so -called “Family Photo” next to Viktor Orban, Marine Le Pen and Matteo Salvini was among the president of the National Movement Krzysztof Bosak.

In a joint statement, they wrote that they are in favor of strengthening the defense of European countries, but are against joint activities within the European Union.

“Patriots oppose all attempts to take power by Federalists and further centralization of power by the European Commission, they also reject the idea of ​​taking loans and joint debt together,” we read in a statement.

– Europe must understand that if it does not defend its interests, it will disappear. This is true in economic issues and competitiveness, which move at the top of the head of states, but every country must also realize that in the 21st century being a free country means having autonomous defense and independent diplomacy – indicates Jordan Bardella, chairman of the French National Union.

The European extreme right has been accused for years of linking with the Kremlin. Even if this is not true, the narrative of “patriots for Europe” is converging with Putin's strategic goal – the breakdown of Europe's unity.

The deputy prime minister Matteo Salvini, who was once parading in T -shirts with the image of the Russian dictator, got an honorary medal from the hands of Orban for “defending traditional Christian values ​​and fight with migration.” Salvini called the extremists of politicians who still want to defend Ukraine.

– They talk about reinforcement of Europe, they talk about war in Europe. They talk about a common European army. They are extremists – from Macron to Kaja Kallas – says Matteo Salvini, Italian deputy prime minister and head of the North League party.

“Patriots for Europe”, like Putin, do not want to see Ukraine in the West's structures. They even admit it in writing:

“Patriot leaders emphasize that the accession of Ukraine to the European Union would be a serious challenge, because it would have unpredictable economic consequences, especially in relation to agriculture, the labor market and the security of the Member States” – we read in a statement.

– All these parties, they are anti -stabland, i.e. they occur in this strongly polarized division against the so -called European Union elites. And at the moment, since they are anti -European, anti -EU, anti -native, then Putin must be the only ally of achieving their goals, hence they are pro -Russian, Proputinian, and for Putin it is, of course, water to the mill – comments prof. The statement of the Orban, Le Pen and Bosak party included a fragment about the state of democracy in Europe.

“The chairman of the party expressed concern about the lack of democracy, threats to freedom and double standards for forces that are not consistent with the mainstream of the European Union throughout Europe (from Poland to Romania)” – we read.

“Patriots for Europe” a wall behind Calin Georgescu, a Proputin politician removed from applying for the presidency in Romania. In Poland, as you can guess, they are disturbed by the way the previous authority is settled.
