French police arrested a suspect in the night from Saturday to Sunday for setting fire to cars outside a synagogue in La Grande-Motte in southern France. According to the media, he is a 33-year-old man of Algerian nationality.
Police said the suspect was arrested on Saturday at around 11:30 p.m. in a building in a district of Nimes. Before that happened, however, he “opened fire on (police), who returned fire.” “The man was wounded in the face,” the statement said, adding that his life was not in danger. It also said that two other people “from the main suspect's entourage” had also been arrested.
