Russia geopolitically lost the war in Ukraine and began to enter into a form of vassalage towards China, French President Emmanuel Macron assessed. “In the longer term, the European security architecture will have to fully embrace the future Ukraine,” he said in an interview with the daily L’Opinion.

“Taking into account the current relations between Moscow and Beijing, as well as the enlargement of the North Atlantic Alliance by Finland and Sweden, Russia lost geopolitically war in Ukraine“, said the French president Emmanuel Macron in an interview with the French daily L’Opinion.

He added that there was no question of any Russian “special military operation” because Vladimir Putin announced the mobilization. In addition to vassalization towards China, Russia also lost the Baltic, because its actions accelerated the entry of two Nordic countries into NATO, the president assessed.

“I have always said that in the long term, the European security architecture will have to fully embrace the future Ukraine,” the French president said. However, he noted that it will also be necessary to create non-confrontational relations with Russia. “However, many more steps are needed for this,” he added.
