The northern regions of France were hit by heavy rainfall. There were floods in the Pas-de-Calais department. Fields and roads were flooded. The French weather service Meteo France issued flood warnings of the third and highest level there.

Meteo France has issued a level three warning, marked in red, for flooding in the Pas-de-Calais department. Orange alerts are also in force for heavy rainfall in the north and west of the country.

Heavy rainfall hit the Pas-de-Calais department on the night from Sunday to Monday. Heavy rain caused the River Liane to swell. Floodwaters inundated the town of Hesdigneul-lès-Boulogne, which is located near the town of Boulogne-sur-Mer.

According to French radio France Bleu, school classes were suspended in about thirty communes of the Pas-de-Calais department.
