The head of French diplomacy, Stephane Sejourne, issued an appeal in which he “categorically advises” his compatriots against traveling to Iran, Lebanon, Israel and the Palestinian territories. The appeal came after a government meeting called in connection with the growing threat of an attack by Iran on Israel.

Stephane Sejourne also called for the return of diplomats and their families from their missions in Tehran, AFP reported.

The foreign minister's appeal followed a “crisis meeting” called in connection with the growing threat of an attack by Iran on Israel.

Israel was accused by Iran on April 1 of carrying out an attack on the country's consulate in Damascus. Important Iranian officials were killed in an attack in the Syrian capital.

After the attack on the Iranian consulate, a statement from the Revolutionary Guard Corps appeared, which stated that the head of the elite Iranian Al-Quds unit in Syria, Lebanon and Palestinian lands, Mohammad Reza Zahedi, and his deputy Mohammad Hadi Haji Rahimi, were killed in the attack.

General Michael Erik Kurilla, a member of the US Central Command, arrived in Israel on Thursday to hold consultations with the country's defense ministry in the face of the threat of a “direct” Iranian attack. Already on Wednesday, Bloomberg warned that the question now about an Iranian attack on Israel is “not if, but when it will happen.”
