Recommendations of similar content were published by the authorities of Germany and Canada.

“All border crossings with Ukraine and the Polish Kuźnica-Bruzgi crossing are closed. The Bobrowniki-Berestowica crossing on the Polish border has been closed since February 10 from 12 noon. Further short-term closures (other crossings) cannot be ruled out. At the borders with Lithuania, Poland and Latvia additional checks are possible.

Previous recommendations were issued by France and Germany – respectively – in April and March 2022. Canada published a new version of the recommendation on February 10, the day the Bobrowniki crossing was closed.

On February 9, Poland announced the closure of the border crossing in Bobrowniki, the last one operating in the Grodno region, “due to the interest of state security.” The day before, a Belarusian court in Grodno sentenced a Polish minority activist and journalist to 8 years in a penal colony Andrzej Poczobut.
