According to the forecasts of meteorologists from Meteo France, on Wednesday the temperature in central and western France may reach 36 degrees Celsius. Forecasters have issued first-degree heat alerts for 47 French departments. Experts from Meteo France said that no cooling should be expected until the end of the week.

French forecaster Alix Roumagnac, working with Météo France, said in an interview with France Bleu that the temperature in the first week of September should remain lower than that observed during the heat wave that hit the country at the end of August. The expert added that the September heatwave is related to the inflow of very hot air from the south, over northern Africa.
