France. Rapper Travis Scott arrested in Paris hotel

Travis Scott was arrested Friday at the Georges V hotel in Paris for violence against a security guard, the Paris prosecutor's office said, explaining that police intervened after the guard tried to break up a fight between the 33-year-old rapper and his private bodyguard. The prosecutor's office has opened an investigation into the case. Multiple French media outlets reported that Scott was drunk at the time of his arrest.

On Thursday, the rapper was seen in the stands at a basketball gameduring which the teams from the United States and Serbia fought to enter the finals of the Olympic Games – the portal of the daily “Le Parisien” noted on Friday. It also recalled that Friday's arrest was not the first in the life of the American star.

In June, the rapper he was arrested by the police on charges of disturbing the peace and trespassing on a boat at Miami Beach Marina in Florida. Officers were called to the marina in connection with an argument taking place on one of the yachts moored there. When they arrived at the scene, they allegedly saw Scott getting into a fight. While talking to the rapper, they noticed a “strong odor of alcohol” coming from him – it was said in a report quoted in the media.

According to the report, after speaking with Scott, the police ordered him to leave the marina. He began to do so, but – as the BBC wrote – “walked backwards, shouting curses at the yacht's passengers”. Five minutes later, he was caught by officers trying to return. During another confrontation with the police, the rapper was said to have “disregarded the officers' orders” and “behaved erratically”. After being detained, the 33-year-old allegedly admitted to being under the influence of alcohol and explained it by the fact that “he was in Miami”, the BBC described.

Travis Scott is one of the most famous rappers in the world. During his 15-year career, he has received 10 nominations for the prestigious Grammy Award. The musician was among the organizers Astroworld Festival in 2021, during which 10 people died. Several civil lawsuits were filed in connection with the event. However, Scott was not charged in the criminal case related to the festival.
