Fights between gangs

In the department of Essonne, where Viry-Chatillon is located, there is a phenomenon of fights between rival gangs, admitted police prefect Frederique Camillieri on BFMTX television. However, she noted that she could not say whether the attack on the 15-year-old was related to this.

In the same week, a 13-year-old student was beaten in front of a school in Montpellier in the south of France. Three people, aged 14 and 15, were detained and pleaded guilty. The prosecutor's office found that before the attack, the students were hurling insults at each other on social media. In turn, in Tours in central France, five girls, aged 11 to 15, were detained for beating a 14-year-old student of their school on Wednesday and filming the attack.

Even before the news of Shamseddine's death, one of the schools in Paris was visited by French President Emmanuel Macron, who assured that the authorities would act decisively against all forms of violence at schools.
