A teenager from the Mazowieckie voivodship was detained in connection with the frauds that she had committed. According to the findings of the officers, the 16-year-old pretended to be a policewoman and extorted money.
Several scams using the “policeman” method took place in Kielce last week. One of the victims is a 79-year-old who donated money to a fake police officer.
– The findings of the investigation indicated that a 16-year-old resident of the Mazowieckie Voivodeship may have a connection with this event. Thanks to the joint action of the Kielce and Sandomierz policemen, the juvenile was arrested on Friday in Sandomierz, said Karol Macek, sub-commissioner from the Municipal Police Headquarters in Kielce.
They are looking for the aggrieved
The officers found that the detained 16-year-old, in addition to the fraud committed on the 79-year-old, may also be related to two unreported incidents, which most likely occurred in Kielce and Płock.
– Investigators now reach possible victims and verify this information. Police officers estimate that the minor could cause losses not less than PLN 100,000. Due to the perpetrator’s age, she will soon face a juvenile court – added the policeman
