“People pretending to be consultants of the National Tax Information hotline or employees of the National Tax Administration call taxpayers and try to obtain information such as bank account numbers, PESEL numbers or other personal data,” the Ministry of Finance said. “We warn against this type of fraud and appeal for extreme caution,” the ministry added.

On the website Ministry of Finance reported that the ministry was receiving signals about fraud attempts.

“People pretending to be consultants of the National Tax Information hotline or employees of the National Tax Administration call taxpayers and try to obtain information such as bank account numbers, PESEL numbers or other personal data,” we read in the release.

MF: do not provide the caller with personal information

As explained, tax administration employees do not make such calls and do not collect information in this way.

“Therefore, if you receive such a call, do not provide the caller with personal data, PESEL/NIP number, ID card number or bank account number” – it was emphasized.

It was noted that “under no circumstances should you provide your login and password to log in to the e-Urząd Skarbowy website by phone.”

“We warn against this type of fraud and appeal for extreme caution,” the website added.
