Zandberg opposed to the Sejm's decision: “The House of Representatives, instead of providing relief to trade workers, she nailed it them more work. Bizarre, cynical, impudent. We will not have a hand in this” – said a representative of the Razem party in an entry on the X platform. Political scientist Jakub Kuźniarski reacted to his words: “Don't manipulate! An employee employed under an employment contract is obliged to work a 40-hour week in accordance with the Labor Code. So if he works on Sunday, he has the day off on another day of the week!
Satisfaction in other parts: Support for new ones regulations on social media were expressed by, among others, the minister Agnieszka Dziemianowicz-Bąk from the Left – “The Sejm decided – 403 MPs voted for a free Christmas Eve!”, Włodzimierz Czarzasty – “Free Christmas Eve + additional leave for parents of premature babies = “LEFT” or former MP of the Confederation Artur Dziambor – “Miracles, miracles announce! #FreeChristmas Eve.”
Trade unionists are ready to protest: Polish representatives are also in favor of a free Christmas Eve, but against three shopping Sundays trade unions. They expressed this clearly during a press conference in the Sejm, which took place before the vote. – We will not allow this to take away our Sundays off. […] Employees are determined, that's why we will defend together (days off – ed.) i protest in case of such a scenario. […] Trade workers deserve this Christmas Eve – commented Alfred Bujara, chairman of the Council of the National Trade Secretariat, Banks and Insurance of NSZZ “Solidarność”.
More on the topic The position of trade unionists regarding the new regulations can be read in Kacper Kolibabski's text: “Storm over a free Christmas Eve. Entrepreneurs are furious, trade unionists are angry. 'We weren't given a chance'“.
