The Institute of Meteorology and Water Management warns against black ice in parts of the country. Roads may be slippery due to freezing rain. In the morning, there will be dangerously strong winds at the seaside, which forecasters also warn about.

Institute of Meteorology and Water Management (IMWM) issued first-degree warnings on a three-level, ascending scale.

IMWM warnings – freezing precipitation

Warnings against freezing precipitation are in force in the following voivodeships:

  • Lesser Polandin Nowy SÄ…cz and Gorlice counties;
  • Podkarpackiein the following counties: Lesko, Sanok, Krosno, JasÅ‚o.

Light freezing drizzle is forecast, causing black ice locally. The warnings will be valid until 10 a.m. on Saturday.

IMWM warnings – strong wind

IMWM also predicts strong winds. The warnings apply to the following voivodeships:

  • West Pomeranian VoivodeshipSÅ‚awno County;
  • Pomeraniancounties: SÅ‚upsk, LÄ™bork, Wejherowo, Puck.

Strong winds with an average speed of up to 45 kilometers per hour, gusts up to 70 km/h, from the southwest and west are forecast.

The warnings will be valid from: 5-18 on Saturday.

What are IMWM first level warnings?

Conditions are expected to favor the occurrence of dangerous meteorological phenomena that may cause material losses and pose a threat to health and life. Conducting business in conditions of exposure to these factors is difficult and dangerous. Expect difficulties resulting from carrying out activities in the hazardous area, including delays caused by traffic disruptions, disruptions to outdoor events or the possibility of their cancellation. Caution is recommended, the need to follow messages and developments in the weather situation.
