Due to the higher and higher temperature during walks, we can come across frogs. These animals slowly wake up from winter sleep and start the mating. Many of them on the way to the places of breeding have to go through the streets where the cars are moving and very often ends badly for them.
As reported by TVN24 reporter Aleksander Przybylski, near the Marceliński Staw in Cognition In March, streets are closed – so that migrating animals do not die under the wheels of cars. The fences are another way to help frogs at this time of year. The initiative consists in building herpetological fences in strategic places. Special patrols also move around the area, during which volunteers collect animals from the road to the buckets, and then move them to safer places.

Adjusting the infrastructure and your yards
A very good solution that allows you to protect frogs is to build culverts over roads.
– This infrastructure should be adjusted. Just as bicycle infrastructure is adapted to cyclists, so green infrastructure should be adapted to the activity of these animals that function in a given place. This is a statutory obligation, because all amphibians and reptiles in Poland are protected by whether it is partial or strict. And the road manager should be eliminated by threats. The natural body is the president, mayor, head of the commune and they are obliged to maintain the population of these animals in a stable state – commented Dr. Eng. Mikołaj Kaczmarski from the University of Life Sciences in Poznań.
Such culverts are not a very expensive solution. What's more, they can be mounted soon so that you don't have to turn off the road from traffic.
We should also take care of frogs on our own initiative, especially since at the beginning of March there is often rapid insulation. During the day, the noticeable temperature can reach up to 20 degrees, while in the evenings it drops rapidly. And because the amphibians and reptiles are variable, they often have to wait out the weather or temperature fluctuations. Therefore, at least until the end of March, we should not remove the start of leaves, branches or other matter that has accumulated from autumn. Reptiles and amphibians, but also small mammals and insects are able to shelter.
