Currently, the most promising young Polish representative is Kacper Urbański. The midfielder made a successful entry into the Polish national team before Euro 2024. The problem is that his club situation is also not the best. This season, Urbański played less than 500 minutes. He last played in Serie A in November.
Will the Polish goalkeeper play in Italy? Sampdoria invited him
Many Polish players have played in the Italian league in recent years – Piotr Zieliński, Wojciech Szczęsny and Kamil Glik immediately come to mind. Currently, there are 12 Poles in Serie A, and another eight one level below. Will another one join them soon? Portal matchyki.pl informed that there is a chance for this. 16-year-old Michał Dębski is to go to Italy for tests.
He is the goalkeeper of the third league Wigry Suwałki, who made his debut in this competition this season. The goalkeeper played in the losing matches against ŁKS Łomża (1:2) and Unia Skierniewice (2:3). It seems that Sampdoria, who plays in Serie B, is interested in him – the current captain of this team is Bartosz Bereszyński.
Dębski is to take part in five-day tests. “This is a regular practice of Western teams before purchasing a young player. The goal is to see him in training with his own eyes, but also to show him their facility and familiarize him with the club,” we read. Several weeks ago, Dębski was on tests with Empoli – a team that usually plays in Serie A.
It is not known whether the young Pole will convince the Italian coaches, but we can only wish him success. Although Sampdoria is currently not in the best place – the team is only 16th in Serie B – it would still be a huge leap for a player from the Polish third league.
