Frost occurred in most of Poland last night. The temperature in Suwałki dropped to -6 degrees Celsius near the ground. We should expect frosts in the following nights as well. The Institute of Meteorology and Water Management has published a forecast of meteorological hazards.
According to the Institute of Meteorology and Water Management, during the night from Sunday to Monday, “frost occurred in a large part of the country”. The lowest minimum temperature was recorded in Szczecinek, where -2.4 degrees Celsius was measured. By the ground temperature in Suwałki dropped to -6 degrees C.
IMGW threat forecast for Tuesday
Frosts may return to Poland on Tuesday. In connection with IMGW plans to issue first level warnings for provinces Lubuskie and Greater Polandas well as for the province Lower Silesia.
Heavy rainfall is also possible. Level 1 alerts may apply in the province of Silesian (districts: Pszczyna, Cieszyn, Bielski, Bielsko-BialaŻywiecki) and Lesser Poland (districts: Wadowice, Suski, Myślenice, Limanowski, Nowy Targ, Tatrzański).
IMGW threat forecast for Wednesday
The next day the temperature below zero degrees Celsius may fall over a larger area of Poland. Frost warnings on Wednesday may be issued for the following provinces: warmińsko-mazurskie, Podlaskie, mazowieckie, of Lodz, Greater Poland, Lubuskie and for the southern districts of the province Lower Silesia, Silesian and Lesser Poland.
IMGW threat forecast for Thursday
On Thursday, frosts may appear in the provinces Świętokrzyskie and Lesser Poland.
