We have this one milestone in the form of the issue of the judiciary, which, as we know, is pending before the Constitutional Tribunal. It seems to me that since 90 percent of the milestones have been met, 90 percent of the funds can be withdrawn – assessed in “Fakty po Faktach” the head of the President’s Office of International Policy Marcin Przydacz, who answered questions about the lack of funds from KPO in our country.

During Tuesday’s debate in the European Parliament, the ECR group, to which PiS belongs, tabled three amendments, including one concerning the mobilization of funds from the National Reconstruction Plan. PO and Left MEPs voted against the PiS amendment.

In the Friday edition of “Fakty po Faktach” on TVN24 Marcin Przydaczthe head of the president’s Office of International Policy, was asked whether, if MEPs from PO and the Left voted for the amendment, the money from KPO would eventually flow to Poland.

– There was a resolution in the European Parliament. There was a proposal for an amendment calling on European institutions to pay these funds to Poles. We know that they are in the minority in the European Parliament Law and Justice supported it. The opposition from Poland, but with a majority in the European Parliament, rejected this amendment. This also proves something and shows that it’s probably not just about the money, it’s about some kind of political game – replied Przydacz.

Przydacz: since 90 percent of the milestones have been met, 90 percent of the funds can be withdrawn

The program pointed out that it was an amendment not to the resolution that talked about money from the KPO, but to the resolution that talked about lex Tusk and freedom of speech, among other things. – So far yesterday, the opposition, which is the majority in the European Parliament, did not support it – Przydacz maintained.

Asked if anything would change after all parties supported the amendment, Przydacz asked the moderator, Piotr Kraśka: – Do you think that the resolutions of the European Parliament are completely irrelevant?

– (Amendment – ed.) It would certainly be a clear signal for the European Commission and for specific actions – he added. Asked once again whether the amendment to the resolution would unlock money from KPO, Przydacz assessed that “certainly European Commission would take into account what he says European parliament“.

However, he stressed that “the European Commission has to make a decision”.

Reminding that Poland agreed to fulfill the so-called milestones and did not do so, Przydacz assessed that “the vast majority of these milestones have been fulfilled”.

– We have this one milestone in the form of the judiciary issue, which, as we know, is pending before the Constitutional Tribunal. Personally, it seems to me that since 90 percent of the milestones have been met, 90 percent of the funds can be withdrawn,” he said. As he stated, “The European Commission, if it had good will, could easily start disbursing these funds.”

Przydacz also said in the program that KPO “is a kind of instrument for the Commission to exert extra-legal political influence.” – I think that the electoral or pre-election, campaign situation is a kind of incentive for the European Commission to exert political influence – he said.

– If not for the election campaign, perhaps these funds would be unblocked – said the TVN24 guest. In his opinion, the European Commission “politically influences the situation in Poland”.

“I am also saddened by the internal situation in the Constitutional Tribunal”

In this context, the dispute in the Constitutional Tribunal, which hampers the work of the Tribunal, was discussed. It was recalled that President Andrzej Duda in a February interview with TVN24, he appealed to the Constitutional Tribunal to “argue”.

– And this appeal remains in force all the time – confirmed Przydacz. – I am also saddened by the internal situation in the Constitutional Tribunal, but as you can see, even the appeal of a politician enjoying the greatest social mandate in Poland, Constitutional Court didn’t respond, he said.
