The European Gaia-X cloud center will be built in Poland, informs the Rzeczpospolita daily. According to the newspaper, “it is part of a project supported by Brussels and financed by companies from Germany and France.” The investment is to compete with technological companies from overseas, including Microsoft and Google.
As the daily writes, Poland is to be one of “the important bridgeheads in the European-American data war”. The newspaper notes that now “business, institutions, but also Internet users around the world who store their files in the cloud, in practice most often store them on the servers of American cloud computing giants – several US companies have a total of 60 percent of this market. “European players are a niche,” he says.
Gaia-X – investment in Poland
