Russian media reported a massive fire in a gas pipeline near Saratov. The governor of the Saratov region said that “due to excessive heat, the gas pipeline was depressurized, and then a fire broke out.”

“Emergency services and specialists are currently working on the site. The gas pipeline is closed,” wrote the governor of the Saratov region, Roman Busargin, on Thursday afternoon. He also said that the cause of the fire was “depressurization of the gas pipeline due to excessive heat.”

Russian media report that the gas pipeline is located near the village of Storozhevka. According to the “Izvestia” daily, the fire broke out after 3 p.m. (2 p.m. in Poland). There are no reports of casualties.

As reported by the Kommersant daily, the flames reached five meters. Emergency services burned the remaining gas to locate and extinguish the fire, he wrote. A little later, “Kommersant” – citing local authorities – reported that the gas pipeline fire had been extinguished.
