The United States has presented Israel and Hamas with a compromise proposal for a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, the White House said Friday. Washington hopes the deal will be approved next week.
The second day of new negotiations on the war in the Gaza Strip, convened by the US, ended in Doha, Qatar, on Friday. Egypt and Rhinitis. Both sides of the conflict – Israel and Hamas, which controls the Gaza Strip, accused each other of setting new conditions and blamed each other for the failure of the talks.

The UN resolution, on the other hand, calls for the adoption of this plan by the US.
Possible acceptance next week
In the coming days, working groups will continue to work on technical implementation details of the agreement, and senior officials will meet in Cairo before the end of next week to “finally conclude an agreement on the terms presented today,” the White House said in a statement.
During the two-day talks on Thursday and Friday, some progress was made in the negotiations, but some issues remained unresolved, one of the Israeli negotiators told Channel 13 television. He added that this concerns Israeli control over the border area of ​​the Gaza Strip with Egypt and the strategic road that runs through this territory, dividing it into southern and northern parts. Israel wants to maintain control over these areas, which Hamas opposes, noting that this is a new condition of the government in Jerusalem.

“What we were presented with as the outcome of the Doha talks is not in line with the last agreement proposal accepted by Hamas on July 2,” a senior Palestinian official told Reuters.
Hamas did not attend the meeting in Doha, but was kept informed of its results by Qatari and Egyptian mediators. Before the negotiations began, Hamas said it had rejected the invitation to talks because instead of new proposals and negotiations, it wanted a return to the original plan that it had already adopted.
Conflict in the Gaza Strip
The war in Gaza erupted after a Hamas terrorist attack on Israel, in which nearly 1,200 people were killed and 251 kidnapped, 111 of whom are still being held hostage. According to local authorities, more than 40,000 people have died on the Palestinian side.
