A video was published on one of the local portals, which recorded a beating of a homeless man by young people in Gdańsk in front of one of the shopping malls. The police established the identity of the perpetrators and detained two men, aged 21 and 22, and a 16-year-old girl.

According to the policewoman, on Friday afternoon, police officers from the police station in Wrzeszcz secured the footage that appeared on one of the portals. The video shows two men beating the victim. The incident was recorded by a 16-year-old girl.

“The officers immediately took care of the case, inspected the scene and secured traces. During their work, the police officers obtained a lot of information about the incident and checked it all in detail” – said sub-inspector Magdalena Ciska.

She added that the identity of the perpetrators and their whereabouts were established very quickly. “On the same day, after 9 p.m., in one of the vacant buildings at ul. Słowacki, criminals from the municipal command and the police station in Wrzeszcz detained a 16-year-old Gdańsk girl and a 21-year-old from Pruszcz Gdański and a 22-year-old from Gdańsk for this case, “she emphasized.

The men were taken into police custody, while the 16-year-old was taken to the police emergency room for children. “While checking her data, it turned out that she was wanted and the family and juvenile court issued a decision to place her in a youth care center,” the press officer informed.

Participation in a beating is punishable by up to 3 years in prison. If the beating results in serious bodily harm, the perpetrator is liable to imprisonment for up to 8 years.
