Passers-by noticed a young man at the Gdański Railway Station sleeping under a bench at the ZTM stop. The city guards intervened, the 16-year-old was taken home by the police.
It was 11 pm when city guards from the 1st Regional Department received a report about a young man sleeping under a bench at the tram stop at the Gdański Railway Station.
He had trouble keeping his balance
Passers-by helped him sit up and called the city guards.
“When the officers intervened, they smelled a strong smell of alcohol from the young man. The boy had a huge problem with keeping his balance and his speech was slurred. The guards made sure that he did not need medical help, and then checked him in,” the Warsaw guards said in a statement.
The police took him home
The school document showed that the 16-year-old was a student of one of the capital’s technical schools. In this situation, the guards had to call the police. The patrol that arrived on the spot contacted the boy’s guardians and drove him home.
Providing and selling alcohol to minors is subject to a fine, restriction of liberty or imprisonment for up to 2 years (Article 208 of the Penal Code).
