The body of a newborn was found on the balcony of an apartment in Gdynia. The child’s mother and her partner were arrested in the case. An autopsy will determine whether the baby was born alive.
According to prosecutor Mariusz Duszyński from the District Prosecutor’s Office in Gdańsk, the body of a newborn was found on Friday afternoon on the balcony of one of the apartments in Gdynia. Activities were carried out at the premises with the participation of a forensic medicine expert.
According to the prosecutor, a 44-year-old Ukrainian citizen, the child’s mother, and her partner were detained in the case.
An autopsy is currently underway to determine whether the baby was born alive and how it died. The preliminary results of the autopsy will probably be known on Sunday. Further actions in the case will depend on her.
