The man was not driving alone – he was carrying a 55-year-old passenger who was injured in an accident and was taken to the hospital. As reported by the press team of the Municipal Police Headquarters in Tczew, the driver could clearly smell the smell of alcohol.
After checking his sobriety, it turned out that he has nearly two per mille of alcohol in his body. In addition, it quickly became known that he was banned from driving until 2024 by a court. In addition, his car did not even have a check-up or basic third-party liability insurance.
The 22-year-old will be accused of causing an accident under the influence of alcohol and non-compliance with the imposed penal measures. In total, he faces 9.5 years in prison. The case will go to court.
