A bomb from the Second World War was discovered during works in the Gdynia port. The sappers intend to disarm it on Thursday. About 300 port workers had to be evacuated.
An unexploded ordnance was discovered during the expansion of the Indian Quay in the port of Gdynia. Engineers were called to the scene, who confirmed that it was a 50-kilogram bomb from World War II. Their radius of destruction was estimated at about a kilometer.
Evacuation of port workers
Due to the threat of an explosion, around 300 port workers were evacuated. The officer on duty of the Municipal Police Headquarters in Gdynia, staff aspirant Waldemar Zalewski confirmed to us that the notification about finding the unexploded ordnance was received at 8:13.
The sappers from Rozewie are to try to defuse the bomb on Thursday.
