“General Mieczysław Bieniek in “Fakty po Faktach”

Interview with General Mieczysław Bieniek, former deputy strategic commander NATO for transformation, currently advisor to the Minister of National Defense, was devoted to the situation in Ukraine. In “Fakty po Faktach” the general answered questions concerning, among others, the offensive of Ukrainian forces in the border region of Kursk, a new weapon, the existence of which was announced on Saturday by President Volodymyr Zelenskyscenarios on the front in the near future, as well as what a Ukrainian victory would mean in practice.

– I repeat my words from two years ago. Putin did not win this war and will not win it – Bieniek stated. As for Ukraine, he assessed that “it is already winning this war politically, it is winning with its courage”.

The interlocutor of “Fakty po Faktach” spoke positively about the offensive of Ukrainian forces in the Kursk region in Russia. He assessed that the Ukrainians attacked the enemy's territory, “taking advantage of surprise.”

The general said that the Ukrainians' success was the capture of almost two thousand Russian soldiers, who constitute a “fungible fund”. – This is a huge success, considering the fact that Ukraine is being attacked almost along the entire front line – said the TVN24 guest.

Bieniek assessed that the Ukrainian forces have a very difficult situation in the Pokrovsk direction (in the Donetsk region). The city of Pokrovsk, for which heavy fighting is currently taking place, is considered an important logistics hub for the Ukrainian forces in Donbas.

– At the same time, Ukraine was able to secretly organize a brilliant military operation that allowed it to occupy over 1,500 square kilometers (of Russian territory) – added the advisor to the head of the Ministry of National Defense.

Bieniek, when asked if he was surprised by the offensive of Ukrainian forces in Kursk Oblast, replied: – Yes, I was surprised and amazed, but at the same time I thought to myself that all the rules of blitzkrieg and maneuver warfare were used. The general said that the Ukrainians created a buffer zone that prevents the Russians from shelling the city of Sumy and the border areas. He recalled that the Ukrainians they also destroyed three bridges over the Sejm Rivercutting off the Russian troop group from supplies. He admitted at the same time that he was also surprised by the fact that the Russian forces did not bring to Kursk Oblast the units currently fighting in the Pokrov direction.
